A Snippet of Rach
First of all I'm a Southern Girl from Knoxville TN, but very seasoned in the art of packing and moving! I've lived all over the south east, midwest, Europe, and now California. I could ramble for ages, but these are a few of my favorite things! The ocean, swimming, hiking, weight lifting, eating, laughing, crying, puppies, kitties, anything furry, red wine, traveling, pottery, dirty toes in the sand, chocolate lava cake, surfing, paddleboarding, singing, whistling, falling down, being silly... the list goes on :)
Why I came to Yoga!
This is a long story, but it all started with a very reluctant Rachel going to hot yoga with her roommate instead of rock climbing. At first, I honestly thought I was going to throw up, but then I kept on going and started to enjoy it! Then in a crazy accident I broke my ankle and all I COULD do was Yoga (supine mind you, I crutched into class). I was then amazed because yoga not only healed my body, but also healed apart inside of me that had nothing to do with physical asana.
I've struggled with eating disorders for the better half of my life and through my practice, I began to not only find strength and peace in my body, but with my body. It was then that I realized there was something to this "Yoga Thing" and I wanted to know more! And the rest is history.....
WHERE DID I GET TRAINED ??
Rachel is a certified RYT 200hr yoga teacher who studied at the Holy Cow Yoga Center in Charleston, SC who's caretaker and teacher Trace Sahaja teaches the integral yoga style based on the teachings and lineage of Swami Satchidananda. (8 of the 9 beauties in my TT are in this picture <3 !)
I received my SUP Yoga training with my good friend and wonderful SUP Yoga Teacher and Business Owner, Sarah Tiefenthaler! Check her out and take a class next time you visit LA to experience the MAGIC!! YogAqua
About my classes!
My classes consist of a challenging creative vinyasa flow style that will not only your body but your mind and intention. Rachel believes that we can achieve great strength and flexibility through the power of positive and encouraging thoughts and deep breath practices. Rachel always tailors her classes to suit each individual by teaching in kramas or stages in order for each student to personalize the class.
Say Hey to Me!
I don't bite I swear :)
